Tenderind and procurment procedures of National Road Administrations in Western Europe

This paper containes the result of an exhange of information between national administrations of Western European Roads Directors Group within PIARC. The admintrative responsibilities for highways and the highways tendering and procurement procedures for the construction of national road networks are described. That is to say the net network which is the responsibility of the Road Dicertors. The purpose of the exercise was to obtain better back ground knowledge of current practices in Western Europe and to assit themutual understanding of the implications of European Community Directives, in particular the Construction Producsts, Public Works and Remendies Directives.
